Police Report Copies

Obtaining Copies
Go to the Records Bureau on the 2nd floor in the Police Department Monday through Thursday between 9 a.m. – 4:45 p.m. Please wait at least 3 days following the reported incident. This ensures that the report has gotten to the Records Bureau after going through various procedural checkpoints within the department.

Upon your arrival at the Records Bureau counter, you will either be provided a copy of the report or depending on the case status, as open investigations are not released, you may be directed to complete a Freedom of Information Request (PDF). Reports are $11.00 for the first page and $2.00 for each additional page, payable by cash, check, Visa, Mastercard or Discover Card.

Please be advised that you will need to be at the Records Bureau window by 4:45 p.m. to assist us in facilitating your request.

Freedom of Information Requests
If you wish to make a Freedom of Information request, we will need the request in writing. You can either come in to the Records Bureau and fill out our form or fax or mail your request to us. The Records Bureau fax number is 586-276-4069.

We will need to know what you are requesting and your name and address where you can be contacted when we have the request ready. The Police Department is allotted by law 5 business days to contact you and let you know that the information is ready and what the cost will be.
