Oceans of Possibilities Summer Reading Program

Join us for our aquatic-themed Summer Reading Program, Oceans of Possibilities!
The program runs from Monday, June 6 to Friday, July 22.

Prizes & Participation

Who can participate?

All ages can participate. There is a different challenge for each age group:

  • Babies
  • Youth
  • Teens
  • Adults
  • Adaptive Needs

Each person can participate in only one age group. 

How does it work?

Earn 10 badges through completing reading goals, or a combination of completing reading and activities. Come into the library starting June 6 to get your goal sheet, or track your goals through our online platform, Beanstack.  

For those particpating online, make a Beanstack account at You can also track your progress on the Beanstack app. A household can track multiple readers under one account.  

What about prizes?

The rewards of reading are endless, but we have added a few prizes as an extra incentive! Babies will get a prize for finishing the challenge. Youth, Teens, and Adults will get a prizes for registering and finishing the program. These can be picked up at the reference desk in the library.

All Youth, Teens, and Adults that participate will be entered into a drawing for a grand prize. For those participating in-person, turn in your goal sheet by July 22 to be entered into the drawing. Grand prize winner will be announced July 23. 

The Youth grand prizes are four tickets to SEA LIFE Aquarium + LEGOLAND, a hoverboard, or a $100 gift card to Urban Air Adventure Park. Teen grand prizes are a $100 Visa gift card or an oversized Jenga game. Adult grand prizes are a $100 Visa gift card, an oversized Yahtzee lawn game, or a ladder toss lawn game.  

Summer Reading Finale Celebration

Celebrate the completion of another year of summer reading with a fun outdoor event! It will be held at the Dodge Park Farmers Market Pavilion. Join us for crafts and ice cream and then stick around for a presentation featuring some scaly critters from our friends at The Reptarium of Utica.
