Funded through the Recreating Recreation funding, the Dog Park located at Delia Park is now officially open. Enjoy the off-leash facility that features picnic tables, fencing, water fountain, dog bag dispensers, and much more! The all dog area is 1.25 acres, and the small dog area is .75 acre!
For the safety of young children, anyone under the age of 6 is not allowed in the dog park at any time. Children ages 6-17 are allowed in the park if accompanied by an adult pass holder.
Rules and Regulations
Dog Park pass holders are responsible for compliance with Sterling Heights general park rules and the Dog Park rules and regulations listed in the signed agreement at all times. Pass holders must have current dog’s license, immunization record, and initialed Code of Conduct form on file with the Parks & Recreation department in order to obtain a dog park pass and access to the dog park. Only annual pass holders and their approved dogs are allowed into the park. Permits will be revoked if you allow a non-pass holder or unregistered dog into the park.

Anyone who wishes to use the Dog Park must submit an application, along with photo ID, copy of dogs current vaccinations, copy of current dog license paperwork, initialed Code of Conduct form, payment, and $5 initial one time fee for access card.

How to obtain a Dog License
Please note, the Parks and Recreation Department does not issue dog licenses. If you need to obtain a license for your dog, you can do so online or by mail through PetData.com. You should expect to receive your license from Pet Data within 2 to 4 weeks.

The Sterling Heights Parks and Recreation Department has opportunities available to memorialize your loved ones by purchasing a bench or a tree to be placed in the City’s park system. A limited number of memorial benches have been installed at the new dog park.

All issues must be filed within 24 hours of the initial incident. Each form will be reviewed and researched by the Parks and Recreation Department within 48 business hours.
If this is in regards to a dog bite or an emergency situation, please contact 911 for police or animal control assistance. An official report must be filed by the police, animal control or a veterinarian before reporting it to our department.
