Program Updates

Due to the timing of preparing the Fall 2020 magazine and extended restrictions from the state, not all of the programs and events listed in the magazine can be held as originally planned. While some of the activities unfortunately have to be cancelled, we are excited to be offering a number of quality programs with modifications for people of all ages.

In addition, we have delayed registration for some of our programs in an effort to see if guidelines will change in a month. Our goal is to continue providing as many opportunities to participate in activities and engage with fellow residents through this difficult time, with more new programs on the way that fit within the state guidelines.

Below you will find a listing of all the changes related to the fall magazine as well as registration date changes as needed:

Programs, Delays, Cancellations

Currently the Parks and Recreation Department is offering a variety of virtual and outdoor programs that comply with CDC recommendations and state requirements.

Registration for programs can be done online at myshpr.net/register, fax to (586) 276-4064, mail, or email with proper registration form printed from the website. You can also register for programs in-person at the Community Center or Senior Center from 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. and 2 - 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Drop-in Programs

Some drop-in activities at the Community Center will begin on Sept. 21 with modifications. To register for drop-in programs visit here.

The Senior Center is not expected to begin drop-in activities until at least Dec. 1, 2020. We will be sure to update when these activities are scheduled to resume.
