Absent Voter Ballot

The Absent Voter Ballot Application (PDF) is a fillable and printable form. Complete the application, sign and date in the designated place.  Your signature must appear on the application or you will not receive an absent voter ballot.
The last day to apply for and receive an absentee ballot by mail is 5:00 p.m. on the Friday preceding an election.

Absent voter ballots can be picked up by the voter in person up to 4:00 p.m. on the day prior to the election.  A voter who visits the City Clerk’s office on the day prior to the election to obtain an absent voter ballot must vote the ballot in the office; the voter is not permitted to leave with the ballot.

A voter who registers to vote on Election Day by appearing in person at the City Clerk’s Office is also eligible to obtain an absent voter ballot until 8:00 p.m. on Election Day.

If you are in the Military or an American Overseas, please visit FVAP.gov for further information and to request an absentee ballot via the Federal Post Card Application (FPCA). You have the option to receive your ballot by email. Scan or take a picture of your completed FPCA and email to vote@sterling-heights.net or mail to the City Clerk’s office.
