[ARCHIVED] City of Sterling Heights issues instructions for public participation in video conference of April 7

In accordance with Governor Gretchen Whitmer’s Executive Orders Nos. 2020-15 and 2020-21, the April 7, 2020 regular meeting of the Sterling Heights City Council will be conducted by video conference starting at 7 p.m.

There are multiple ways the public can view, listen, and participate in this public meeting:

  • Comcast Channel 5 (Viewing)
  • WOW Channel 10 (Viewing)
  • AT&T U-Verse Channel 99 (Viewing)
  • YouTube live stream (Viewing at www.sterling-heights.net/shtvlive)
  • Zoom teleconference (Listening and public participation under Communication from Citizens accessible by calling in at (929) 205-6099 and entering meeting code 441199775 when prompted. A passcode will not be necessary; simply hit # again to enter the meeting.) 

Anyone from the public participating by Zoom teleconference will be placed on hold in a virtual “waiting room” until the meeting starts at 7 pm and will be muted during the business portion of the agenda.

Under Communication from Citizens, those participating by Zoom teleconference will have the opportunity to address City Council  with comments and questions regarding any item germane to City business, including any agenda item the City Council has taken action on during the business portion of the meeting agenda. Each participant will be recognized first by the Mayor using the last four digits of their phone number and then afforded not more than four minutes to speak.

Council agendas can be found in advance on the City’s website by clicking on government, then city council and scrolling down to agendas and minutes. Residents may also email any questions they may have on any agenda item to the City at cityhall@sterling-heights.net.
