It's almost time to do some spring cleaning and DPW wants to help! Mark your calendar for DPW Spring Clean-up Days from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at 7200 18 Mile Rd. on the below dates. This event is for Sterling Heights residents only!
SHRED Day: Saturday, April 10
The Department of Public Works, located at 7200 18 Mile Road west of Van Dyke, will be holding a SHRED Day for residents only from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Shredding of documents will be provided at no charge on site for complete security. All the shredded materials will be recycled.
A limit of three paper-sized boxes (15”L X 12”D X 10”H) will be shredded per person.
Household Hazardous Waste Day: Saturday, April 17
The annual Household Hazardous Waste Event will be held at DPW, 7200 18 Mile Road west of Van Dyke, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
During the event, acceptable household hazardous materials will be collected, identified and packaged for transport.

Electronic Recycling Day: Saturday, April 24
Residents looking to get rid of old televisions, computers and other electronic items are invited to drop them off for recycling, at the Department of Public Works building at 7200 18 Mile Road west of Van Dyke from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The City will be accepting almost all electronics. A good rule of thumb is if an electronic device has an electric cord attached, it will be accepted for recycling.

This event is great for items that residents just do not know what to do with (e.g., tires, wood from deck, brick from a paver patio, etc.).
No hazardous waste or explosive items will be accepted.
