[ARCHIVED] Celebrate the season with the 17th annual Cops and Kids event

The Sterling Heights FOP Lodge #118, in cooperation with the Sterling Heights Police Department and Target of Sterling Heights, is hosting it's annual "Cops and Kids" holiday program at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, Dec 12 at the Target store located 16 Mile and Dequindre roads.

The Christmas Cops and Kids program is designed to assist area children and their families in need during the Christmas holidays. We hope to help between 40-50 children from the Sterling Heights area get a little something extra for the holidays. Each child will get to spend approximately $100 on toys, clothing or gifts for their families.

Santa and Mrs. Claus will be on hand along with uniformed officers to assist the children in selecting and wrapping gifts. This program not only helps those in need but creates an opportunity to develop relationships and trust.

Anyone wishing to assist with funding this event or recommend a family should contact: Sgt. Randy Depriest (586) 446-2851 or rdepriest@sterling-heights.net
