Following the large snowstorm this past weekend, Sterling Heights Public Works will be offering branch chipping for residents through next Wednesday, Dec. 2.
To qualify for the chipping program, tree limbs must be over 4 feet in length including cut ends. Limbs with cut ends facing the street should be stacked in the right of way (area between curb and sidewalk).
Smaller tree branches and brush can be set out at the curb for regular yard waste collection on the scheduled refuse pick-up day. Waste Management will pick-up bundled and tied branches no larger in diameter than 6 inches, no longer than 4 feet, weighing no more than 50 pounds.
Residents who would like to request branch chipping must place tree branches at the curb and call Public Works at (586) 446-2440 to notify. Only those who notify will receive the service.
Anyone with questions can call Public Works at (586) 446-2440.
