The City of Sterling Heights and its Art Commission are making preparations for the 37th Annual Sterling Heights Memorial Day Parade to be held on Monday, May 30, 2016.
The Sterling Heights Memorial Day Parade is one of the City’s great events for residents and visitors to experience. Tens of thousands of spectators line the parade route each year. Marching bands, scout troops, civic groups and individuals are all welcome to march in the parade.
Applications for participation in the parade are now available on the City’s website, www.sterling-heights.net, click on the American Flag on the home page.
Memorial Day activities begin promptly at 9 a.m. in the City Center Courtyard as hundreds gather for a solemn tribute to all veterans who died in the line of duty. At 10 a.m., the parade kicks off and proceeds south on Dodge Park Road to 17 Mile Road. Please note, due to construction on Dodge Park Road, the parade will be shorter this year only. The parade will resume to previous year’s route in 2017.
For more information on the Memorial Day Parade or Ceremony, please contact the Sterling Heights Community Relations Department at (586) 446-2470.
